Round 4 and 5 Snett

Back to the big power circuit for the last time, we had spent all night every night between meets getting the bike fixed and ready to go, unfortunatly spending a large portion of the seasons budget getting the bike ready - but ready it was.

All week I has been building up to being ill for the weekend and sure enough I had man flu real bad, qualyfying showed we were going to struggle when I couldnt get gears everytime and and didnt get a proper sharp lap in - 2nd on the grid was ok tho and we made some changes for the 1st racing.

Unfortunatly they didnt work and I only had 3 usable gears and got stuck behind the 2nd place man and was struggling to get any drive to get past. I did evetually get past at the bomb hole and finished 2nd, but along way from Skelly who romped an easy win.

There was no point using the number 1 bike again so we donned the road bike from retirement again, being a power circuit I was shocked to finish in 4th with a good gap to 5th.

Over night Jamie stripped the engines and swopped parts hoping to get things ready to have a go at winning the next day. In qualifying it was raining hard and the gearbox was good, we poled it by nearly a second and thought we were back on track and looking good.....................

on the warm up lap the end can broke in half and we were not able to start the race - it was noticed by a few people how far I could throw my gloves.... maybe glove tossin is the future for me.

With a last minute tyre to chamge to wets before the second race we again thought we were in for a good shout at the win, but the gearbox went again and we struggled home to 2nd place.

What a terrible weekend! but at the end of the day two 2nd places and a 4th isn't so bad and I think we proved we can dig deep and still ride at the sharp end under pressure! I was however very happy to go home and have some lemsip and put my slippers on.

On stripping the engine the gearbox is completely gone and the parts alone are over £700 pounds! thats is pretty much the whole seasons budget done in 2 rounds! we are hoping to be able to find some second hand parts or cobble something together for the next round at cadwell in three weeks. If not it might be the old road bike again.

things can only get better?
