In between Cadwell and Mallory we had made some changes to the forks on the bike trying to iron out the big problems we had had, we did not have the resources to test them before the race so it was straight into Qulifying. There was a full grid of hornets and it looked like being another fast meeting.

Qualifying went well and the forks seemed fine - I have had almost no dry time on the bike so it was nice to be able to push the bike a bit harder than I had been used to. The forks were definatly better though they still chattered a bit. I qualifyed in 7th place, almost a second from pole so I knew I had to work hard in the races.

The first race was still dry and I got a good start straight into 4th place and pushing for 5th - unfortunatly a big crash forced a red flag and I had to do it all again. I got another good start despite being pushed almost of the track round Gerards, the pace was very hot again but I was with the leaders and looking to improve on my place, the leader took a big high side leaving Edwinas after setting an amazing lap time - up till them it looked like his race. A few laps into the race I realised I was losing a lot of time on the brakes as I was able to push around the fast corners but was taken twice on the brakes - leaving me in 5th place. An improvment on the 7th but still not over the moon! - I knew what I had to do for the second race and was up for it.

During dinner the heavens opened and we had heavy rain - on with the wets again!!! This didn't put me off as I had lots of time on the wets, the only problem would be pushing hard enough on the start to get with the lead pack. I got a good start into 4th- but the leader had broken the pack a bit and was stuck behind the 3rd place man - we were running a good pace and every time I tried a move I had a slide and couldn't get past, coming out of the elbow on one lap he missed a gear when I was right behind him and I was so close I had to back off the avoid him and couldn't take advantage - he rode well and held me off the line, I finished 4th. I gotta say well done to Colin who rode the last race like it was dry and got a well deserved win!! well done mate.

All in all I got 2 finishes but I certainly want to be closer to the front at the next meeting!!!!! Lots of sponsors and friends came to the meeting and made it a great weekend - so thanx guys and see you all at the next one!
