The penultimate round takes us to Brands Hatch. Not many of the racers have been here before let alone raced so it should be interesting!. Being a short circuit the racing should be very close.

The points round was on the Saturday so there was no time for practice, luckily the weather was perfect. In qualify I rode really well and was nearly a second quicker than the other CB's, I had a little track knowledge already and this obviously helped - some of the riders had even paid extra to go out in the sound of thunder race for more track time! After the session I was pulled over and told I had not attached my transponder (timing beacon) so would have to start from the back of the grid - 27th!!! Gutted! I knew this was the end of my points lead in the championship as Gav had qualified well - as I knew he would. It was just a case of how many points I could get in the short races.

For the first race I was well fired up and got an excellent start, unfortunalty the lead CB crashed on the 3rd lap and the race was red flagged - it was run again over a shorter distance and I knew this had blown any chance of a decent result. I got a good start but was boxed in for the first few corners and had to work really hard, once again I feel I rode really well and cut through the pack. On the last lap I was in 4th place and could see Jack and Gav in front, by the time I crossed the line I was on their back wheel finishing 0.1 from the podium!! not bad from the back of the grid and considering everything I was well happy.

The second race started much the same - getting boxed in. I fought my way through but got held up for the last 3/4 laps by a slower hornet who would fly past on the short srtaights and block my line through the corners - I was way of the podium but held onto 4th with the next man all over my back wheel over the line.

All in all two 4th's from that position was very good - but not good enough with Gav scoring a 1st and 2nd place. My lead in the championship now only 2 points with 1 round to go. All year comes down to 1day!!! excellent! Go to the Results page to see the championship table.
